Mary Elizabeth Fletcher, 93Mary Elizabeth Fletcher, 93, of Lafayette, IN passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 6:45 PM. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was loved by her children and grandchildren and will greatly be missed. She had lived the last 7 years with her daughter in Waynetown, IN. Mrs. Fletcher lived in the West Point area most of her life before moving to Lafayette. Mary graduated from Linden High School. She worked at Radio Material in Attica; she then went to work at Landis & Gyr where she retired on March 1, 1988 after 10 ½ years. She was born on December 27, 1922 in Linden, IN to the late Glen and Ora Etta (Whitecotton) Sparger. She married Robert Lee Fletcher in November of 1943 in New Richmond, IN; he passed in 1990. Surviving are two daughters: Marietta Fletcher of Waynetown, IN and Patricia Coffing of Lake Station, IN; a son, Larry Lee of Lafayette, IN; five grandchildren: Mike & Randy Coffing of Lake Station, IN, Aaron Fletcher, Lisa Ann King, of Chalmers, IN, Christine Upton of Kentucky, and nine great-grandchildren: Jon Coffing, Makalia Coffing, Joseph and Ashley King, Austin Fletcher, Rylan Fletcher, Avery Fletcher, Trey Upton, Kaylee Upton, and several nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, son Bernard Earl, two sisters, and three brothers. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 11:00AM with visitation one hour prior at Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette, IN.
