Deneen, Mary E.Mary E. Deneen, 99, Green Bay, died Sunday, December 11, 2016. She was born on August, 26, 1917, in Superior, WI to Jeremiah and Winefred Deneen.The family moved to Chicago, IL before "The Great Depression". Mary graduated from St. Vincent High School and continued her education at St. Ann's Nursing School, graduating in 1931. After many years of night classes, Mary graduated from Loyola University with a Masters in Nursing Education. She taught Psychiatric Nursing at St. Anne's and Prairie State College in IL, until her retirement at the age of 68. Mary immensely enjoyed her retirement in Bella Vista, Arkansas where she golfed and played cards with her many friends. She was dedicated to her faith, praying the rosary regularly and volunteering with her church.Mary is survived by three nieces, Kathleen (Raphael) Faccio, Theresa Deneen, Margaret Watkins; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; twelve great-great nieces and nephews; and a great-great-great niece and nephew.Friends may call at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
