(Gulig) Abler, Mary E.Mary E. Abler, age 76, of Mt. Calvary, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 26, 2017, as a resident of Villa Loretto Nursing home after a two year battle with brain cancer.She was born on March 16, 1941, in Fond du Lac, WI, to the late Ralph "Butch" M. and Mary Elizabeth "Betty" (Farrey) Gulig.She attended St. John the Baptist Grade School and graduated from Goodrich Sr. High School in 1959.On September 23, 1961 she married David J. Abler at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg, WI.She worked at Great Lakes Cheese in Plymouth, WI in the packaging department.Mary managed a women's softball team with Myrtle Olig. She enjoyed casinos on occasion, monthly get togethers with Great Lakes Cheese retirees, listening to county music, watching the Brewers, and enjoyed attending harness racing.She is survived by her husband David J. Abler of Mt. Calvary; her children, Craig Abler of Appleton, Todd Abler (Fiancee' Debbie) of Plymouth, Sara (Don) Suckow of Plymouth, and Holly (Dennis) Freund of Johnsburg; grandchildren, Alex (special friend Jessica), Chelsey (Ryan), Tyler, Donovan, Davis, Elizabeth (special friend Troy), Adam, and Ava; great grandchildren, Ella, Landon, and Everest; her sisters and brothers, Agnes (Robert) Schrage, Janet Gulig Ahern (Dave Ahern), Andrew (Mary) Gulig, her twin Cathy Gulig, Ralph (Jackie) Gulig, Joan Fuhrmann, David (Kathy) Gulig, and Steve Gulig. She is further survived by her brother and sister-in-laws, Don (Jane) Abler, Audrey Riley, John (special friend Chris Thome) Abler, Michael Abler, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, parents-in-law, Edwin "Bretzie" and Nelda Abler; brother, William J. Gulig; brother-in-law, Larry Drake, and Larry Niemuth; and her pet dog, Moses.Per her wishes, there will be no services.
