RACINE - Mary B. Pierce, 93, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Friday December 2, 2011. Mary was born on February 10, 1918 and raised on a family dairy farm in Deer Creek, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late George and Dagmar (nee: Hanson) Lendved. During World War II she welded in the shipyard in Sturgeon Bay. Later she relocated to Milwaukee where she was employed in private homes. On December 3, 1949 Mary was united in marriage to Floyd Pierce in Waukegan, Illinois. In Racine she was employed at Eisendraft Tanning, Acme Die Casting and The Racine Motor Inn, (later known as Inn on the Lake). Mary was a lifelong Green Bay Packer Fan and loved to follow the Milwaukee Brewers. Mary is survived by her daughter, Susan of Shorewood, sisters-in-law, Gerda of Wittenberg and Lila of Pulaski, she is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd in 1996, brothers, Alton, Everett and Gordon and sister, Eva Mulvey. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Wednesday December 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Those wishing to remember Mary in a special way may direct memorials to The Eye Institute-Froedtert Hospital, 925 North 87th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53226.
