Marta RaczAug. 24, 1930 - Jan. 28, 2017SOUTH BEND - Marta (Wehly) Racz, age 86, of South Bend, died peacefully in her home Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the comfort of her family of caregivers.She was born on August 24, 1930 in Budapest, Hungary the youngest child of Dezso and Gizella Wehly. She married Ervin Racz on December 24, 1955 and they moved to the U.S. soon after, bringing Marta's mother to live with them. Ervin preceded her in death in 2014. She was also preceded by her brother, Ivan. Marta completed her schooling in Budapest. She worked in banking and the Foreign Car parts business she owned with her husband. Marta was an avid animal lover. Her dogs were her children. She was an avid supporter of ASPCA and the Humane Society. Marta loved to travel and she and Ervin travelled abroad extensively.Marta will be missed by Casey, her Westie, and by Sue, Jessica and Teresa who cared for her for many years and considered her to be family.Marta is survived by a niece, Gizella, of Germany. A memorial service will held at a later date. Palmer Funeral Homes - Guisinger Chapel is handling the arrangements.
