Marriett Tarbet DainesSmithfield - Marriett Tarbet Daines passed away on May 18, 2014 in Billings, Montana. She was born on April 24, 1918 in Smithfield, Utah to Nephi and Julia Collett Tarbet and was the 8th of 13 children. She grew up in Smithfield and graduated from North Cache High School. She married Weston Ray Daines on Jan. 3, 1937 in Logan, Utah. Marriett and Weston lived in Logan, American Fork, Salt Lake City and later moved to Billings, Montana. Marriett and Weston had three children: Clair, Tom and Marilyn. Marriett was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Weston, son Tommy, a granddaughter Susan (Jay) Owenhouse and her brothers James, Edson, Hyler, Ralph, George, Dee and Wendell and her sisters Florence Evans and Venna Tippetts. She is survived by her son Clair (Sharon) Daines of Bozeman, Montana, her daughter Marilyn Daines of Billings, Montana, four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Russell Tarbet and Wes Tarbet of Smithfield, and Delbert Tarbet of Lewiston. A short graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Smithfield City Cemetery.
