MILTON - 66, passed away late on Thursday, July 16, 2015 surrounded by her family at Mercy Hospital, Janesville. Marla was born on July 2, 1949 in Racine, WI to the late Arthur and Lucey (Harthun) Bien. She would marry Richard Reed on February 13, 1969. Marla was an avid reader and a very creative and talented artist and crafter. Her favorite store was Hobby Lobby, and they are sure to miss her weekly trips. She was known for her wit and sense of humor. Friends recall phone conversations to talk about nothing, just to laugh and tell jokes. She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed planting flowers, and decorating her home. Marla was also a pet lover and never stopped mourning the death of her most be-loved dog, Berry. Her current dog, Wyatt, was always at her side and will miss his daily treats and companionship. Marla was a tell-it-like-it-is woman who showed strength in difficult times. She was at her mothers side during her battle with cancer and through her passing. She was a huge support to daughter, Stacey, during the delivery of her grandson, Jordan. She would open her home to friends and family who needed a place to live, give a stranger a ride, and stay up all hours of the night to support a friend in need. She will be greatly missed by several life-long friends including Ivy Minton, Linda Pritchett, Margie Nelson, Jan Nelson, Sandra Bodnar, and Paulette Barger. Marla is survived by her loving husband, Richard Reed of Milton, WI; daughter: Stacey Bodnar of Milton, WI and grandchildren, Taylor and Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents, and step-father, Theodore Gabor. Per Marlas wishes, there will be no scheduled funeral service or visitation.
