Mark Anthony Dorsey was born on September 26, 1963, to Martha Jo Dilworth and the late Lee Dorsey in Gary Indiana.He departed this life on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.Mark was an active member of St. Paul Baptist Church until his health failed. Mark learned about the Bible from his great aunt and learned how to cook. Mark served as Assistant Superintendent Sunday School Teacher. He was very active in his community; he was on the Planning Committee for the City of Amory and Political Action Organization. Mark received numerous award from Itawamba Junior College, Mississippi Valley State University, and the Boy Scouts. He graduated from Amory High School in 1982, where he was Sports Manager and worked on the Yearbook Staff. After graduating from IJC, he continued his education at Mississippi Valley State, where he was a football team assistant. Mark loved sports and he fell in love with all aspects of sports following a knee injury that ended his football career. He became a trainer for junior and senior college. He worked as a Manager/Public Relations Coordinator of the Weight Lifting Organization.Mark was a man with a wonderful sense of humor who truly loved spending time with family and friends. He had five golden rules: 1) Be thankful always 2) Be giving always 3) Be forgiving always 4) Be self-helped always 5) Be faithful always!Mark's memory will continue to live in the hearts of his mother, Martha Jo Dilworth; close friends, Ricky McCall, Dwyan Suggs, Ron Marshall, Bernard McGee and David Robinson; his caregiver and close friend, Monique Bass, Lizzie May Hennley, and a host of relatives and friends.
