Marjorie fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She took her last breath surrounded with her family and friends at Mercy Hospice House in St. Louis.
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Greatgrandmother, Aunt, and Friend to many. Marjorie was born to Scoville and Irene Horner in 1933 in Evansville Indiana. Her fondest childhood memories are of working behind the counter with her Dad, a pharmacist, in his corner drugstore, Horner Drug.
Marjorie moved to St. Louis with her husband and raised 4 children. She obtained a degree in Social Services in the 1980's and held a variety of positions, which she enjoyed immensely. She retired and moved to Lake of the Ozarks, and then eventually moved to the Villages at Mackenzie Place. There she met the dearest of many friends, and lived a happy, satisfying rest of her life with her companion dog Cookie.
Marjorie loved her pets, house plants, the outdoors, driving, her music, and social activities at Mackenzie Place.
From her own words, I would look at my blue skies and feel the warm sunshine. I would tell the moon and stars how beautiful they are. I would make sure all the people I have loved really knew I loved them. I would listen to my favorite music and dance all night. I would thank God for the gift of life, and die in his arms.
