Marion Davis Creech, 78, of Bloomfield, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, in Nicholasville. He was born on July 2, 1938, in Nelson County to the late Fred and Martha Belle Marion Creech. He retired after 41 years with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms as a senior inspector. He served with the Army National Guard, was an elder in the Christian Church Disciples of Christ, a former coordinator of Nelson County 4-H Shooting Sports for 27 years and was inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame.He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Grace Creech and a niece, Michelle Carney.Survivors include his wife, Judy Carney Creech; a son, Marion Davis (Allison) Creech II, of Louisville; two grandsons, Marion Davis "Trey" Creech III and Elijah Day Creech; a sister, Dr. Fredericka (Phil) Lockett, of Fairfield; three nephews; and a niece. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Houghlin Funeral Home with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery. Brother Leland Parks will officiate.Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the funeral home. Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
