Hanson, Marilyn M.Marilyn Margaret Hanson, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, age 75, of Hortonville, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at ThedaCare in Appleton of cancer and pneumonia complications. Marilyn was born on March 18, 1941 to the late Harvey and Lorraine (Rutz) Ganzel in Neenah. Marilyn graduated from Menasha High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to LeRoy Hanson on January 9, 1960 in Dubuque, Iowa. They lived in Neenah until they moved to Hortonville, where they lived since 1979. Marilyn spent her entire life caring for and helping others. She was known for her cheerful outlook on life and the love of gardening and fishing. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren, as well as many years of volunteer work at the Hortonville/Dale Food Pantry and Helping 2nd Hands and she was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Hortonville.Marilyn is survived by her husband of 57 years, LeRoy; children, Sherri (special friend Quin) Hanson-Devereau; Robert Hanson; and Jaime (Bonnie) Hanson; grandchildren, Michael (Danielle) Pawlowski, Becky (Dustin) Green, Rachel (Jim) Ketchum, Ashlee (Michael) Crosno, Trevor Hanson, Brianna Hanson, Jamison (Jenny) Landry, Jessica (Kyle) Schafer, Jakki (Andrew) Franzen, Janelle Landry and Ryan (Carissa) Oney; siblings, Karol Hanold, Mary Gehnke and Tom (Kathy) Ganzel; 19 great-grandchildren; 18 foster children and numerous other relatives and friends.Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Sandra and Michael.A Memorial Service for Marilyn will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Community Baptist Church in Hortonville (323 Embarrass St.) with Rev. Lary Long and Rev. Joe Gaunt officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
