Marietta Connell Marietta Connell, 62, of Lafayette passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 in her home, surrounded by family, after a battle with cancer. She was born on January 25, 1955 to W. Harold Blankenship and Joetta Boggess Blankenship.  Marietta graduated from Southwestern High School with the class of 1974. On June 1, 1974 she married Jimmie B. Connell in Lafayette. Marietta worked in manufacturing for BASi. She previously worked for Indiana Gas, Vulcan, Mayflower Mill Elementary, and Duncan Meter. She was also a member of Harvest Chapel for over 17 years. Marietta was known for helping people whenever so had the chance, looking at the moon, sitting outside watching the birds, she enjoyed her flowers, long walks, she loved dogs, and most of all she loved the Lord Jesus and spending time with family and friends. Surviving with her husband Jimmie and her parents, Harold and Joetta, is her daughter, Anjetta Connell Terry of Englewood, CO, and her grandchildren, Leah Monroe Terry and Hayden Connell Terry of Englewood, CO. Also surviving are her siblings, Marci (Jerry) Johnson, Terry (Amanda) Blankenship, and Marna Boles all of Lafayette and several nieces and nephews. Marietta is preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Dexter and her son-in-law, Marc M. Terry. A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Chapel (2111 East State Street, Lafayette, IN 47905) on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 3 p.m. with Pastor Tom Camp officiating. Private burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery.
