SPRINGVALE - Marie Jean Beaupre, 99, of Springvale, died on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born on Nov. 26, 1916, to Eugene and Lydia (Dubois) Letourneau, of Springvale, where she grew up and attended school. She was a lifelong resident and lived on Pleasant Street for over 60 years. After her schooling, she worked in the shoe mills in town. She worked at local shoe shops, including Allied Shoe Shop, Universal Shoe Shop, and Corey's Shoe Shop. She valued her time at these shops, both for the love of the work and the friendships she made. Marie was loved by everyone she met and left an impression on them. She had a kind and generous spirit and put the needs of others ahead of her own. Though she never had children of her own, she was a surrogate mother to many. She will be remembered for her love and devotion she bestowed on her sister, Lucy, during her illness. She was a Communicant of Notre Dame Church in Springvale, and was very active in the annual church fair. Marie was known for her delicious peanut butter fudge and caramels that she sold at the fairs. She was a loving and wonderful woman, and will be missed. Marie is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leo Beaupre, who passed in 1969; her sister, Lucy (Floriska) Bergeron; and her brother, Robert Letourneau. Survivors include many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at the Newton Center as well as the Hospice workers for showering her with care and comfort, as well as Dr. Theresa Breault. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, St. Thérèse Parish, 10 Payne Street, Springvale. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
