Marie Elizabeth Belles, 91, entered into sunset on October 27, 2017.  She was born on May 1, 1926 to the late and loved, Johnny B. Hatcher and Mary S. Hatcher.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Booker T. Belles; and two sons, Randolph M. Belles, and Booker T. Belles Jr.

She is survived by her sisters, Mary Guynn of Chesapeake, Thelma Hogge and her husband, Lonnie of Christiansburg; her brother, Roger Hatcher, his wife Dorothy and their two sons, Marcus and Antione.  Marie had a large extended family including many cousins, and friends.  She knew no strangers.

Marie was born in Ocean City, Maryland and was always a very friendly, outgoing child; older than her age it seemed. At the age of 18, she met and married Booker. A devoted wife who helped run the farming and take care the household.  She never turned a hungry mouth away.  What little she had she would share. Open to all neighboring children, her kitchen was never closed. She will be always remembered as a loving mother, aunt and grandmother and whose greatest passion was helping others.
