Woelfel, Marie E. "Mutzie"Marie E."Mutzie" Woelfel, 87, of Kiel died Friday evening March 24, 2017 under hospice care at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center after a brief illness. She was born on July 9, 1929 in rural Kiel, daughter of the late Edwin & Lidwina (Hartmann) Schneider. Marie attended Kiel Schools and was a graduate of Kiel High School class of 1947.On May 5, 1951 she was united in marriage to Roland E. Woelfel at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Roland preceded her in death on January 24, 2002. Marie was a dedicated employee at Evans in Kiel for more than 30 years. She was also a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she belonged to the Christian Women.Survivors include her daughters; Mary Jane (Gerald) Vogel of Kiel, JoAnne Woelfel (Joel Wisman) of Elkhart Lake, grandchildren; Neil (Debra) Vogel, Carissa (Jeff) Witkowski, Laura (Jeremie) Gilbert, Abbie Kennedy, April Woelfel, Allie & Macy Wisman along with five great grandchildren. Further survived by her daughter-in-law; Karan Woelfel, brothers; Donald (Joanne) Schneider, Elroy (Nancy) Schneider, Allen (Shelby) Schneider, sisters-in-law; Delores Schad, Janice Woelfel & Shirley (Robert) Ficks.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rollie, her son Steven, a brother; Eddie (Fran) Schneider and a sister-in-law; Priscilla Schneider.Funeral Vigil for Marie will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church (413 Fremont St. Kiel). Burial in the parish cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church on Wednesday from 3:00pm until 5:45pm when we will have brief family rites before the service.Marie's family would like to thank the caring staff at Rocky Knoll, especially the Rehab nurses and staff, for all their care and compassion. They would also like to thanks Sharon S. Richardson Home Hospice for making Marie comfortable in her last days.
