Mariam E. (Mineweaser) Popson, age 86, of Waterford Pike, formerly of Osborne Road in Brookville, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, as a patient of the Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital. Mariam was born on June 23, 1930, to the late Aloysius and Elizabeth (Bodnar) Mineweaser, in Eldred Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa. On June 15, 1949, she married Andrew Popson in Brookville, Pa.; Andrew preceded her in passing on March 20, 1983. Mariam was known for her cleaning habits; she cleaned, and cleaned, and cleaned. She primarily was a homemaker and she enjoyed being able to take care of her husband and children while keeping the house tidy. Mariam was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Brookville, Pa. She was also a member of the Brookville Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, #983, and the Brookville Fireman's Club. Mariam loved her family and she was especially close to her granddaughter, Ellie Wingard. Mariam is survived by one daughter, Teresa N. (William) Cole of Brookville, Pa.; one son, Allen E. Popson of Brookville, Pa.; one sister, Gloria Rieder of Warren, Pa.; three brothers, Aloysius Mineweaser Jr., of Warren, Pa., Wilbur Mineweaser of Warren, Pa., Gary Mineweaser of Brookville, Pa.; three grandchildren, Molly Wingard, Kelly Popson, and Melissa Popson; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mariam is preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Mineweaser, Dary Mineweaser, and Paul Mineweaser. According to her wishes, there will be no public viewing; however, a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 129 Graham Ave, Brookville, PA 15825, beginning at 10 a.m., and officiated by Father William Laska. Interment will take place at the St. Mary's Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to any charity of the donor's choosing.
