Van Grinsven, Margie LouiseMargie L. Van Grinsven, age 77, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. She was born on March 31, 1939, in Appleton, daughter of the late Martin and Louise (Dumke) Reinke. Margie married Harry F. Van Grinsven on July 1, 1972, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Appleton. Margie graduated from Appleton High School in 1957, from the Outagamie County Teacher's College in 1959, and then from the University of Oshkosh in 1963, with a degree in elementary education. She taught in Shiocton, Wide Awake School, Brown Deer and finished in Neenah. Margie was a dedicated teacher for 35 years before her retirement in 1994. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, reading, music, baseball and working with computers. Margie taught seniors how to use computers as a hobby. Together with Harry, they enjoyed spending the winters in Arizona and New Mexico. Margie is survived by her loving husband, Harry Van Grinsven; a brother, Reginald (Betty) Reinke; brother and sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Bekx and Max (Shirley) Van Grinsven; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, other relatives and friends. Margie was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leo (Mary) Reinke; brothers and sisters-in-law: Christ (Petra) Van de Ven, William (Grace) Van Grinsven, Edward (Mary)(Nancy) Van Grinsven, Theodore (Henrietta) Coppens and Leonard Bekx.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 225 E. Harris Street, Appleton. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Community Lutheran Cemetery, Freedom.
