Margaret Quintana Nuñez, 81, was born on Aug. 17, 1931, to Jose Blea Quintana and Apolonita Valencia Quintana. She was a lifetime resident of El Ranchito, a Catholic and an active member of the San Miguel Parish. Then in her later years, she was united in marriage to Miguel Nuñez and they lived happily together in Albuquerque. After his death she came back to live in El Ranchito to care for her parents. She also lived in San Juan and part-time in Rociada with her Goddaughter/ niece, Catherine. She was recently living in Westminster, Colo., where our loving, caring, and helpful Godmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend has left us to be with our dear father on Feb. 2, 2013. She was preceded in death by her dad, mom, husband, sister Lucy and brother-in-law Ambrosio Tafoya, and great-niece, Aleecia Ambrosia Tafoya, brothers, Joseph and Andres Quintana and sister-in-law Betty Rivera Quintana, and great-niece Amelia Eduvigen Quintana, nephews Joey Sanchez, Pete Lopez Quintana, Fabian Lopez Ortiz, Cody Cantrell and nephew-in-law Eli Negron, niece-in-law Marcella Tafoya. Uncle Napoleon and Aunt Julia Valencia, Cousin Leo Valencia and great-cousins, Cecilia Ortega, Richard Lucero.Aunt Mariita and uncle Antonio Aragon, cousins Joe and Elizabeth, Benjamin and Josephine, Simon and Dela, Dolores and Fred Ulibarri and Cleo and Felix Aragon. Also cousins Tony and Rosemary. Cousins, Johnny and Julia Medina, numerous other relatives and friends.She is survived by her sisters ­- Vivian and husband Steve Sanchez and family, Maria Erlinda Espinosa and family, Juanita (Mary Jane) Quintana and family, Marcella and husband Gene Falvey and son, Hazel and husband Herman Molina and family. Her cousins Fermin Aragon and Family, Manuel and wife Isabel and family. Her Goddaughters, Catherine M. Lopez and Ray Molina, two daughters - Felicia and Vanessa Ortiz. Elaine Tafoya Ortega and Rick Salazar and son Kenny and wife Magdalena Ortega. Susan Sanchez Romero and husband David Romero and one daughter Tammy and husband and six children and two sons Dennis and Steven. Julie Baker and four children. She also had special family and friends like Rose and Everett Baros, Mary Griego and family, the Oteritos, Terorita Serna, Rita Villesas, Eulalie Baker and family, Josie Brasher, Lala Martinez and family, Theresa Maes, Charlie and Theresa Maes, Jacobo and Valerie Pacheco, all our Quintana family in Colorado, Juan and Alice Sandoval, George and Priscilla Sandoval, Cousin Pauline Woods and family, Ray and Loretta Esquibel, Daniel and Mary Lou Gurule, Arcenio and Jan Sandoval, numerous other relatives and friends.Rosary devotional services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the San Miguel Parish in Ribera, N.M. Lunch will be provided after at La Escuelita next to the Parish. She will rest in peace next to her beloved late husband in Albuquerque at Mt. Calvary on Edith Street.
