Haeck, formerly Margaret Hershberger, age 100, of Fruitland Park, FL, formerly of Mishawaka, passed away at the Villages Hospice House on Sunday, November 13, 2016.Margaret was born on August 1, 1916, in Middlebury Twp., Elkhart County, IN, to Erwin and Edna Hershberger.Margaret married Alfons Haeck on August 28, 1937, and they shared 65 years of marriage together. They lived in Mishawaka, IN, for 60 years before moving to Florida to be closer to their son and grandchildren. Alfons passed away on May 6, 2002. Surviving are her son, Robert Haeck of Fruitland, FL; grandson, Bobby Haeck of Merritt Island, FL; granddaughter, Kelly (Haeck) Duguid of Lakeland, FL; sister, Mary Lou (Hershberger) Slone; and eight great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Alfons (2002); sister, Maxine (Hershberger) Juday (2009), and a brother, William Hershberger (1988).Margaret was a kind and caring person, loved by all whose lives she touched. She was a graduate of Mishawaka High School, class of 1935, and worked most of her life, retiring from South Bend Treasurers Office in 1982.Visitation will be on Sunday, November 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN. Funeral services will be on Monday, November 28, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
