Dean, Margaret E.Margaret E. Dean, 82 of Reedsburg, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Sauk County Health Care Center, Reedsburg. She was born on May 23, 1934 to Isadore and Francis (Konkol) Patoka in Amherst, Portage County, WI. In 1957, Margaret was united in marriage to Francis J. "Bud" Dean and together they resided in Milwaukee, WI, and later in Brookfield, WI. Earlier in life Margaret worked for Milwaukee Public School System as a cook along with being a homemaker. In 2003, Margaret and Francis moved to the New Lisbon area to be closer to their children. Margaret was a devout and faithful catholic woman and tried to live her life in accordance with God's word. She was raised on the farm, dearly loved the beautiful countryside and loved the simple things in life; a warm summer afternoon, the early morning birds singing, and watching the seasonal change, whenever she had to opportunity to get outside she was quick to grab the opportunity. She also enjoyed sewing and baking and especially spending time outside in her garden tending to her vegetables and flowers. Margaret had an impeccable ability to recall dates; birthdays, wedding and other special days were never forgotten. Over the last several years, Margaret has resided at the Sauk County Health Care Center. During her time there, she welcomed the nursing home staff and other residents into her heart and loved them as family and they reciprocated that with love with outstanding care and compassion. She dearly cherished the friendships that were made during her time there which have gently carried her throughout the years. She is survived by 3 sons, Scott (Julie Ann) Dean of New Lisbon, Greg (Julie Ann) Dean of Elroy, WI, and Todd (Julie Ann Pogantsch) Dean of New Lisbon, a step granddaughter, Ashley Daubs, 3 siblings, Clifford Patoka, Raymond (Lucille) Patoka and Danny (Bonnie) Patoka, , nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Francis, brothers, Edwin, Harold and Max, sisters, Verona, Virginia and Chesterine, and an infant sibling, sisters-in-law, Rita Patoka, Barbara Janowski, and Susie Stern. She is further preceded in death by many other sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016, 10:30 A.M. at Queen of the Apostles Parish at St. Mary's Church, 303 W. Monroe Street, Tomah. Monsignor Richard W. Gilles will officiate. Burial will be in the Hustler Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.
