Mardell E. MessersmithApril 2, 1938 - October 31, 2016YorkMardell E. Messersmith, 78, passed away at home on October 31, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late John W. Messersmith; together they shared over 40 years of marriage. Mardell was born on April 2, 1938 in York and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hilda (Feeser) Senft. She worked at Graham Packaging Co. as a bottle maker before she retired in 2002. She was a member of New Creation Community Church.Mardell is survived by her daughters, Joyce Heldibridle and husband, Terry of York, Joann Wayne and husband, Lester of West York, Judy Lartz and husband, Robert of Dover, and Josie Kroft and husband, Lloyd of Dover; her son, John Messersmith and wife, Debra of Dover; her brother, Arthur Gantz; her sisters, Marie Rhodes, Constance Morison, Sidney West, and Creeda Ayers; her 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her brother, Harold Feeser.A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at New Creation Community Church, 3005 Emig Mill Rd. Dover, with the Rev. Jennifer D. Thomas officiating. Following the service she will be laid to rest at St. Paul's Union Cemetery in Stoverstown. Viewings will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Church.
