UNION GROVE - Mabel E. Crane (nee: Albright), 93, of Union Grove, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 24, 2012 at her home. She was born on July 8, 1919 in Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and Alma Albright. Mabel married the love of her life, Orrin Crane, on October 9, 1937. They were married for 39 years before he passed in 1976 and together they raised one daughter. Mabel was employed at Racine-Kenosha Teachers College, St. Monica’s Campus, and the Wisconsin Southern Colony. After retirement, she was head of the Meals on Wheels for Union Grove. An avid Packers Fan, many weekends were spent in Green Bay. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, dancing, bingo, cooking, traveling, and being a part of the Red Hats Society. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Survivors include her loving daughter, Sandra and best son-in-law Donald Kerkman; grandchildren, Todd (Kris) Kerkman and Nicole (David) Tyree; and great-grandchildren, Tonya and TJ Kerkman and Trevor Tyree. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orrin Crane, foster son, Willard (Bill) Sheedy; her siblings, Edna (Orville) Guthrie, Henrietta (Ollie) Steiner, Melvin (Georgiana nee Crane) Albright, Donald Albright; and Orrin’s siblings, Martha [Joe) Pulera, Faye (Dan) Sonnichsen, and Freddie [Betty) Finch. The visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church from 10am – 12 noon. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 noon. Burial at the Union Grove Memorial Cemetery will immediately follow.
