M. L. "Pat" Fitzgerald passed away November 30, 2016.  He was born on July 9, 1922 in Redlands, CA to Walter and Hazel Fitzgerald.    Pat resided in Bakersfield for most of his life. He proudly served on the USS Lindsey in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  He was a printer by trade and owned Fitzgerald Graphics for several years. He retired from Kern High School District in 1984, as a graphics arts instructor.    He leaves behind his loving wife Mary, with whom he enjoyed 46 years of marriage, his son Jimmie, stepchildren Karen Fussel and Donnie Freeze, and niece Mary Pond, along with 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, as well as great nieces and a great nephew.   A funeral service will be held at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd. on December 9, 2016 at 2 p.m.
