Younk, Luella "Lu" K.Luella "Lu" K. Younk, 102, Green Bay went home to be with her Lord and Savior, and the father of her children on Thursday, February 16, 2017. She was born on July 16, 1914, to Edward and Minnie (Wendler) Schoepke in the Town of Morris, WI. Lu grew up in Wittenberg and moved to Green Bay to work as a nanny. On May 9, 1935, Luella married Edwin J. Younk. He passed away on September 15, 1963. She married Edwin's cousin, Roy J. Younk on August 6, 1976. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1984. Lu worked in the cafeteria at Bellin Hospital where everyone called her "Auntie Lu". She retired in 1976 and enjoyed going to the retiree's luncheons with her friends. Lu traveled a lot, including trips to Germany and Hawaii, after the age of 70.After living in the same apartment for 20 years, where she did a lot of volunteer work and had many friends, at the age of 90, along with some of her friends moved to Woodside Haven and loved her new home. She lived there for 10 years before moving to Woodside Nursing Home. Lu was an avid Packer and Wisconsin Football fan and she enjoyed the fact that her apartment window overlooked the Ashwaubenon football field. Her apartment was full of Packer and butterfly items. She was always happy and so appreciative, and was known for her smile.Lu is survived by one daughter, Patricia Huth, Fence, WI; a son and daughter-in-law, Dannie and Bobbi Younk, Green Bay; 19 grandchildren, Brian (Tracy) Huth, Craig (Mary) Huth, Wendy (Derrick) Radke, Brenda (Scott) Ourada, Kevin (Wendy) Huth, Michael Younk, David (Lisa) Younk, Robert (Theresa Hoida) Younk, Daniel (Jenny) Younk, Aaron (Stephanie) Younk; 28 great-grandchildren, Nicole (Brett) Johnson, Maison Huth, Alexis Huth, Mieka Clark, Francesca Glaser, Niklas Glaser, Michael (Alicia) Radke, Kelsie Radke, Jacob (Betsy) Miller, Alicia Mahler (Tim Gertken) Carly Ahlborn, Nikki Ahlborn (Jesse Ambrosia) Brett Ahlborn, Riley Huth, Leanne Younk, Becca Younk, Xavier Younk, Malechi Younk, Dylan Younk, Seth Jensen/Younk, Sydney Younk, Samuel Younk, Allison Younk; eight great-great-grandchildren, Carlie, Matthew and Lilyanna Uhl, Gracie and Triston Miller, Allison and Lilly Gertken, Braidon Larson; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husbands; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Shirley Younk; her parents; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Art and Alice Schoepke, Rudolph and Sophia Schoepke, Alvin and Doris Schoepke; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Viola Schoepke and Gertrude and Donald Seefeldt; and a son-in-law, Eugene Huth.Friends may call at Woodside Lutheran Home Chapel, 1040 Pilgrim Way, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 21. The Funeral Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel with Rev. Steve Apfel officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
