Mrs. Lucille Kolar, 88 of Minden City, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016. Lucille was born on Feb. 24, 1928, to the late Adolph and Adella (Messing) Vogel. She married Jerome Kolar on Oct. 20, 1951, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul School in Ruth. Lucille lived on the family farm in Minden City her entire life. She managed the household activities of her large, active family and was an excellent seamstress, baker and gardener. Her life was guided by her faith, work ethic and tireless nature. Lucille was a parishioner of St. Isidore Parish, St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality. She loved dancing polkas and lived for family gatherings. Lucille was always a significant part of her children and grandchildren's events while her health permitted, even if distance made it challenging. She was thrilled to have great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Jerome; 10 children, Jean Markley (Bob) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Don Kolar (Barb) of Minden City, Bob Kolar (Lisa) of Palms, Richard Kolar (Patricia) of Minden City, Bill Kolar (Joan) of Minden City, Elaine McCoy (Mark) of Loxahatchee, Florida, JoAnn Link (Ralph) of Minden City, Bonnie Kirkegaard (Aage) of Silkeborg, Denmark, Cindy Featheringill of Noblesville, Indiana and Debbie Block (Marty) of Ruth; 26 grandchildren, Bob Markley, Jeff Markley, David Kolar, Brad Kolar, Audrey Essenmacher, Jessie Wendling, Katie Kolar, Bryan Kolar, Andrea Myers, Michelle Depcinski, Mitchell Kolar, Jane O'Dell, Steven Kolar, Mark McCoy, Ashley Huffman, Joey McCoy, Jeanna Conroy, Kelly Krueger, Eric Link, Nikolas Kirkegaard, Matias Kirkegaard, Abby Featheringill, Shelby Featheringill, Sarah Lemanski, Kelsey Block and Morgan Block; 25 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nine siblings, Art Vogel, John Vogel (Elaine), Mary Shemka (Lavern), Evelyn Stolicker (Roger), Betty Kubacki, Frank Vogel (Nancy), Catherine Cleveland, Theresa Kahlo (Tom) and Carol Osborne; in-laws, Virginia Vogel, Jane Vogel, Patricia Vogel, Marion Messing (Joe), Theresa Glass, Rose Messing (Russell), Jane Gentner (Duane), Betty Schumacher (Don) and many nieces and nephews. Lucille was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Mary; four brothers, William, Charles, Anthony and Lawrence Vogel; her sister, Ann Vogel; in-laws, Ruth Vogel, Kate Vogel, Eugene Kubacki, Ralph Osborne and Richard Glass. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at St. Isidore Parish, St. Mary Church in Parisville. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly and from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass Saturday at St. Mary Church. There will be a joint rosary at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon by the St. Isidore Rosary Sodality and the St. Isidore Men's Club.
