Louise Tandyage 99, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in Boise, ID. Ealnore Louise Beasley was born on November 14, 1917, the tenth of twelve children in Jefferson County, Indiana and forged a bond with family and friends that inspires everyone who knew her. In her teen years she would spend summers with extended family in Greenwood. At 16 she met a young man from Kentucky, William Albert Tandy. The couple eloped with her sister Dorthy as a witness."Tandy" as she called her husband, worked in a haberdashery and Louise was an accomplished seamstress making them a handsome couple. She enjoyed beauty, she knew beauty is an expression God's creative power, and she was a beautiful woman inside and out. When WWII broke out Tandy was gone for over two years and Louise's Rosie-the-Riveter job was repairing nylon hose for reuse. Then she attended cosmetology school and had a career when dad returned from service. At 30 years of age, she became "Mom" and this couple, both born in log cabins from families that work the land, rolled into the 50's.At 50 she added "Mimi" to her credentials and continued to blossom with her love of family. In her final hours, I whispered stories about family and although she could not speak or open her eyes, she would squeeze my hand and make a sound of acknowledgement. In her mid-eighties she joined my home. We often recalled stories about family reunions in North Vernon's city park; Grandma would sit on a bench that circled a huge tree and all the siblings and cousins would love on her. We also recalled later the Beasley girls would cycle through the log cabin, staying a week to care for Grandma and letting her die in her own bed.Michael and Kari were honored that she lived with us the last 16 years of her life, and I was privileged to see the sweet relationship between Mom and Kari. She died in her own bed with her heart full of hope for eternity with her Savior Jesus Christ. She is preceded by one grandson, brother to Shalla, William Jonathan Tandy and survived by her son William Michael Tandy and his wife Kari, her sister Betty Wagner and her children and granddaughter, Shalla Tandy Braswell and her husband Stephen, and her great grandchildren Jonathan with his wife Katie, and great grandchildren William and Madyson, and generations of nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Services and Crematory, 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46142, on January 7th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. The family will be receiving guests from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 am.You are invited to read Mary's obituary at
