Louise S. RhudeFort GratiotLouise S. Rhude, 84, of Fort Gratiot, MI. passed away on Friday December 23, 2016.  She was born on June 20, 1932 in Ferndale, MI to the late Archibald and Marguerite Midworth.Louise was a graduate of Western High School in Detroit, Michigan and attended classes at SC4.  She married Dwight E. Rhude on June 20, 1953 and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage together before her passing.  She worked as a private secretary in Chicago, IL and then Detroit, MI until she moved with her family to Port Huron, MI to help her husband set up and manage his optometric practice.Louise was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and served on the altar guild for many years.  She was also a life member of the Clyde Historical Society, a former member of Port Huron Golf Club, and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary.She is survived by her husband Dwight, two children, Kim (Richard) Marsack and Paul (Jill) Rhude, both of Fort Gratiot; five grandchildren Jessica (Patrick) O'Brien, Zachary (Jennifer) Marsack, Sarah Rhude, Eric Rhude and Jacob Rhude, and two great grandchildren Annalyse Ichenberg and Ethan O'Brien.Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home-North on Thursday December 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Maureen Baker officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. just prior to the funeral service.  Interment will follow in Ruby Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Louise's memory to the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary or to a .
