Harris, Louise M.Louise Margrit Marie (Loetscher) Harris, age 93, of Plainfield, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Atrium Care of Stevens Point. Louise was born on June 15, 1923 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Maria and Leo Loetscher.Louise was the proud daughter of Swiss immigrants working with her father in the family business as cheese makers with her sisters Gertrude and Elizabeth and her brother Robert. Her highly developed work ethic and inquisitive mind was displayed throughout her life from work to raising her nine children. She married Van (Vivion Vacton) Harris on April 26, 1941 and celebrated 49 anniversaries before his death on March 12, 1991. After raising her children, she showed her strength and independent spirit by returning to school and worked at River Pines Nursing Home. She retired at age 62 to care for her husband prior to his death. Later in life she kept moving and trying new things through her traveling to Arizona, painting, mastering the computer, and surfing the net.Louise and Van left a legacy in family and is survived by her nine children, Patricia Kalata (Jack) of Almond; Barbara Harris of Madison; Leo Harris (Arlene) of Plainfield; Glen Charles Harris (Cindi) of Plainfield; Laura Mattek (Tom) of Bancroft; Ellen Harris of Durango, CO; John Harris (Kim) of Wautoma; Kathy Harris Zur (David) of Park City, UT, and Daniel Harris of Green Bay. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 22 great- grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Betty, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, sister Gertrude and brother Robert.A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, May 12th at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 11th at Church and also from 9:00 A.M. until time of service on Friday.
