This obituary is administered by:
Louise Juliana Kleinenberg passed away at Wildflower Court Nursing Home in Juneau, Alaska in the early evening of February 16, 2015; she was 86 years young. Louise was born on February 6, 1929 to Himmile and Augusta Olthaver in Cheribon, Java Indonesia. At the beginning of World War II, her father, who was German, was taken from his home and placed in an internment camp. Louise, her mother and her four sisters were later taken to Tjibadak internment camp where they lived from July 1940 to June 1941. The family was reunited five years later and lived in China for several years. After leaving China, Louise and her family moved to Germany, where years later, Louise met her future husband, Albertus ""Bert"" Kleinenberg, who was in the Dutch military at that time. Louise and Bert were married on January 31, 1955. In 1962, Louise, Bert and their children moved to Yalova, Turkey. After living there for five years, the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska in November 1967. In 1972, Bert accepted a position with the Alaska Marine Highway and the family moved to Juneau. Louise and Bert divorced July 1974. Louise worked for many years with the State of Alaska in various positions; her last job was working in the State Library where she assisted in the translation of Russian documents into English. After retiring from the State of Alaska, Louise and her daughter Rose and family, moved to Utah where Louise continued to live until she returned to Juneau in 2010. Louise was a great cook and enjoyed stamp-collecting, reading, playing Bingo and puzzles and will be remembered for her love of watching soccer games, her wonderful sense of humor and outlook on life. She spoke German, Dutch and English and was proud to become a US Citizen on April 13, 1973. Louise was preceded in death by both her parents and her sisters, Marie, Nanny, Theadora and Rosalina. She is survived by her daughters, Rose Moore, location unknown; Thea Nelson (and husband Ronald) of Juneau, Alaska; son Ben Kleinenberg (and wife Terri) of Big Lake, Alaska; and son Ron Kleinenberg (and partner Richard Porria) of Juneau, Alaska. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and grand-dogs. Louise was very passionate about the ethical and humane treatment of animals, therefore in lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the Gastineau Humane Society, 7705 Glacier Hwy., Juneau, AK 99801 in Louise's name. You may also donate on-line by going to their website ghspets.org and click the ""Make a Donation"" icon. Per Louise's request, there will not be a public service. There will be a family gathering at a later date to celebrate her life and set free her ashes.
