Smith, LorraineLorraine J. (Holtz) Smith, 86, of Kewaunee passed away on Wednesday morning October 12, 2016.She was born on February 23, 1930 to the late Arthur & Frieda (Kloss) Holtz in Coleman, WI. She graduated from Casco High School in 1947. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Roland Smith. Over the years, Lorraine worked at Algoma Plumbers. She & Roland spent much time working on the family farm. She enjoyed her years of teaching Sunday School at St. John's in Rankin. She was a member of the church choir & Ladies Aid at Immanuel Lutheran, as well as
VFW Auxiliary.To her family she will be remembered for her sugar cookies, applesauce, canned goods, pickles, and salt & pepper shaker collection. We have been fortunate to share countless memories of camping, playing cards, gardening & family meals filled with laughter.She has left behind a legacy of two sons, Gene Smith, Rosholt; Glen (Kathy) Smith, Casco; five daughters, Gloria (Frank) Zeller, Oregon, WI; Glenda Smith, Hatley; Gail (Jim) VanDenAvond, DePere; Greta (Mike) Bloniarz, Kewaunee; Gerri (Steve) Stempa, DePere; one daughter-in-law, Pat Smith, AlgomaThirteen grandchildren, Scott(Nicole) Smith, Jacki Blair, Paul (Rebecca) Smith, Tyler (Elizabeth Sarah) Smith, Amy (Will) Quinn, Steve(Jenny) Smith, Mark (Camille) Zeller, David(Sara) Zeller, Tom VanDenAvond, Matt VanDenAvond, Amanda(Nick) Langer, Heather(Tom) Schmidt, Anna Stempa;Eleven great-grandchildren, Kahlan, Dominique, William, Rachel, Ivy, Chloe, Emily, Leah, Logan, Emma & soon expected Baby Langer.She is also survived by one cherished brother, Ron Holtz, Madison; two brother-in-laws, Victor Smith, Wendell Smith; one sister-in-law, Bertha Smith; one aunt, June Holtz and nieces & nephews.Lorraine is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Roland; son, Gary Smith; daughter-in-law, Shirley Smith; grandson, Luke Stempa; brother, Wallace Holtz; uncle, Gerald Holtz; In-laws, Joan Holtz, Arlene Rapolz, Illa Smith, Joan Smith, Vernon Smith, Caroline & Elmer Arians, Beatrice & Ken Ray.Visitation will be held Sunday, October 16th from 12 to 3pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kewaunee.
