Lorenzo Hines, Sr. was born to Mr. Lawerence Louis and Ms. Betty Jean Hines on May 3, 1958. Lorenzo, better known to all as "Boonie" made his transition on January 18, 2018, at 5:42 pm at the University of Chicago surrounded by his family.

Lorenzo attended Dunbar High School where he studied Automotive Technology. He married Valerie Hines and into that union was born: Lorenzo Hines, Jr., Cornell Hines, and Kimberly Hines-Martin.

Lorenzo confessed his faith in God at an early age and continued that faith and belief until his transition. Lorenzo was well known on the Southside of Chicago for his ability to repair cars, talking stuff, and telling jokes.
