WEST YORK Lois V. Wherly, 91, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clarence E. Wherly. Lois was born on August 12, 1923, in York, a daughter of the late Louis F. and Regina (Poist) Vaughn. She had worked at Caterpillar and Bendix Corp. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and was a 1941 graduate of York Catholic High School. The viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2015, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 950 W. Market St., York. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel Mitzel as the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Lois is survived by a son, Michael E. Wherly and his wife, Sharon A. of West York; two grandsons, Christopher M. Wherly and Michael L. Wherly; a step grandson, Rob Dell; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Lyons. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leota Raver and Gloria Stambaugh. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Rose of Lima Church Building Fund, 950 W. Market St., York, PA 17404. Arrangements entrusted to the John W.
