Lois NewstrandNEWARK: Celebration of Life for Lois Ann Newstrand, of Newark, Ohio and Franklin, Tennessee will be held on December 22nd at Christian Apostolic Church, 22 North 23rd Street, Newark, Ohio. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life service following at 7:00 p.m.Lois Ann Newstrand passed away peacefully in her home with family in Franklin, Tennessee on Wednesday, December 14th. She was born on August 5th, 1936 in Benton, Illinois to the late Howard and Lois Van Dyke Dyer. She graduated from Newark High School and was an honors graduate at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. She taught elementary school for three years in the Newark, Ohio public school system.After marrying Ronald Albert Newstrand, of St. Paul, Minnesota, on May 31st, 1958 in Newark, Ohio, they resided in St. Paul, Minnesota where both taught at Apostolic Bible Institute for four years. Being an accomplished master musician and singer, Lois Ann Newstrand taught piano and voice. Lois Ann Newstrand and Ronald Albert Newstrand pastored Calvary Pentecostal Church in Hartford City, Indiana, First United Pentecostal Church, Nashville, Tennessee and Christian Apostolic Church, Newark, Ohio. A beloved pastor's wife, mother, teacher, speaker, singer and musician. She was the Ohio District Ladies Ministries President for the United Pentecostal Church for sixteen years. She traveled extensively speaking, playing and singing at conferences, churches, retreats and camp meetings. She directed the Ohio District Camp choir 23 years, in Millersport, Ohio. She played the piano and organ for the United Pentecostal Church general conferences. She and Reverend Newstrand traveled to 46 countries doing missionary work.She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ronald Albert Newstrand; son Timothy V. Newstrand of Newark, Ohio and daughter Lisa Newstrand of Franklin, Tennessee (grandsons Taylor Popham and Kenley Popham). Siblings: Nancy Dyer Edge (and Charlie Edge) of Newark, Ohio, Michael Dyer (and Janet Dyer) of Muncie, Indiana, Gayla Dyer Rigdon (and Daniel Rigdon) of Plano, Texas, Kymberly Dyer Huntsman of Clinton, Ohio and Jamie Dyer Claggett (and Eric Claggett) of Cypress, Texas and nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.Friends and family may call Thursday, December 22nd, 5:00-7:00 p.m. and the Celebration of Life service at 7:00 p.m. at the Christian Apostolic Church, 22 North 23rd Street, Newark, Ohio.
