Lloyd F. Zeltinger1920 - 2015Lloyd F. Zeltinger, 94, of Somers, passed away peacefully, Aug. 14, 2015, at the Hospice House.He was born on Sept. 30, 1920, to the late Matthew F. and Johanna (Wiese) Zeltinger in Beaver Dam, Wis. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School.Lloyd entered the US Army Air Corp on Oct. 23, 1941. He served during WWII as an Airplane Fabric and Dope Worker and was an airplane instructor and mechanic. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 1, 1945. Lloyd married Virginia "Pug" Leonowich on Dec. 4, 1943, in Gulfport, Miss. She preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2006.Lloyd worked at Outboard Marine in Waukegan, Evinrude in Milwaukee for several years and at Lawn Boy. Lloyd retired from AMC working in the engineering experimental department.Lloyd was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was also a proud and active member of the American Legion Post 21, which he held all the offices. He was a member of the Kenosha Barbershop Chorus and a member of the Last Man's Club. He also was an instructor at the rifle range. Lloyd enjoyed golfing, tending to his apple orchard, swimming, take American Legion tours with his wife and was a jack of all trades.Lloyd is survived by his children, Neil A. (Dave Drath) Zeltinger of Kenosha and Linda D. (James) Lemke of Kenosha, his grandson, Carl (Deane) Lemke and his great granddaughter, Georgia Marie.Funeral services for Lloyd will be held on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
