Lloyd William Schinker Obituary

Feb 11, 1925 - Jan 17, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Schinker, Lloyd William Age 91, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016. Beloved and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and great grandfather he is survived by his wife Delores, sons Ronald (Pamela) and David (Lori), daughter Laura (Dennis) Anderson and son-in-law Gary Weiher, grandchildren Marc (Cindy) and Michael Weiher, John, Mallory and Jake Schinker, and great-grandchildren, Eric and Allison. He is further survived by sister Audry (Bob) LaPalm and brother Don (Carmen) and their families. Lloyd was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter Jacqueline and his parents, Helen and Jack Schinker. Lloyd was born on February 11, 1925 in Saukville, Wisconsin. He married Delores Cloutier on November 27, 1948 in Ecorse, Michigan. Together they raised four children in Allen Park until moving to New Berlin, Wisconsin in 1966. Lloyd was a member of the Army stationed in the Aleutian Islands as a radio technician during WWll and will be remembered each 4th of July for his recollection of his time on Shemya Island. For most of Lloyd's adult life he was employed in the construction industry. Earlier in his career he was with the Louis Garavaglia Construction Company in Michigan for numerous years before relocating to Wisconsin to work for Mueller Pipeliners. He retired in 1983 from Mueller Pipeliners as a construction superintendent. Lloyd and Delores enjoyed traveling around the world and settled in Dunedin, Florida upon Lloyd's retirement. They also were blessed with a cabin on Diamond Lake in Minocqua, Wisconsin where they spent their summers from 1993 until health issues and vision concerns had them returning to New Berlin. Lloyd was a member of Holy Apostles Church in New Berlin. Lloyd will be remembered for being a social butterfly, a gifted story-teller, a generous, kind, and devoted family man who loved to make others laugh, lend a helping hand, and spend time with his loved ones. He enjoyed cigars, campfires, financial investments, anything strawberry and stories/conversation over a Miller Lite (or two). He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of his company and those who dearly loved him, and there were many. Gathering at HOLY APOSTLES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 16000 W. National Ave., New Berlin, WI on Friday, September 30, 2016 1230-130PM. Memorial Mass at 130PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to The or AngelsGrace Hospice. The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Johnson, from UW Cancer Center at ProHealth Care for his guidance and the staff of Angels Grace Hospice for their care and compassion.
