Lisa Sanchez-Tafoya, 23, a resident of Los Martinitos, went to be with our Lord on Oct. 27, 2014. Lisa was a devoted Catholic at San Miguel Del Vado and Santa Rita Church. Her hobbies where singing, playing sports and spending time with her loving family.Lisa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Martha and Joe Martinez from Bernal, Vivian (Peewee) and William Sanchez from Las Vegas; uncles, Tommy Martinez, Jerry Martinez, Christy Martinez, Billy Sanchez, Ernest Garcia and Tom Sanchez; and aunts Josephine Martinez and Elizabeth Martinez.Lisa was born on Nov. 30, 1990 to Mary Sanchez, who survives her and the late Lupe Sanchez from Los Martinitos. She also survived by her husband, Wilfred Tafoya Jr. and her two beautiful daughters, Aalyiah and Makay Tafoya whom she thought the world of.Also survived by her brothers, Robert Sanchez (Jackie) from Los Martinitos, and Christopher Sanchez from Las Vegas; sister, Angela Sanchez from Albuquerque; special nephew, Justin Sanchez who was her right hand man and special cousin, Chela Martinez-Coca who she always looked up to and went to for advice. She is also survived by in-laws, Florida and Wilfred Tafoya Sr.; uncles, Arthur (Rachael) of Bernal, Norman (Bonnie) of Los Lunas, Michael (Gina) of Bernal, Patrick (Leighann), of Las Vegas, Joseph (Yvonna) from Las Vegas, Steve (Maria) from Los Martinitos, Jimmy Romero from Taos; aunts, Dorothy (Fred) from Albuquerque, Rosella (Benny) from Commerce City, Colo., Christine (Joel) from Los Martinitos, Tina Martinez from Santa Fe, Patricia (Emerson) from New Orleans, and Rita (Mike) from Angel Fire, Margaret Romero from Santa Fe, Patricia Sanchez from Las Vegas, and Cecilia Garcia from Perryton, Texas; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces and many friends.Funeral services for Lisa will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church on Saturday as follows: rosary service will begin at 10 a.m. followed by celebration of the funeral mass by her mentor, Father Ronald Stone at 11 a.m. Internment will follow the mass at the Santa Rita Cemetery in Bernal.
