Linnie Iola Henderson Lumpkin was born on August 22, 1934, to Percy T. Henderson and Pearle Gurvis Snow Henderson. She passed away on October 12, 2016, at the age of 82 due to complications from Alzheimer 's disease. Linnie was at home at Village Green Alzheimer's Care Center when she passed. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Linnie cared deeply for her friends and family; her home was warm and inviting, with the best goody drawer in town. Linnie loved bowling and her sorority with her long-time friends Dwilda Daw, Peggy Stevens, Sally Hineman, and Dinnie Sherrod. She was employed by Panorama Country Club as Office Manager and Bookkeeper for 28 years. She served as a member of First United Methodist Church of Conroe for 50 years.
Linnie is survived by her husband of 61 years James Lumpkin; daughters Jamie Shaver and husband Kenny, Julie Lumpkin, Joni Corley and husband Matt; grandchildren Cory Shaver and wife Sally Ann, Kent Shaver, Kurt Shaver and fiancee Nichole Broussard, Madison Whitfield, and Morgan Corley. Also surviving Linnie are great grandchildren Corbin Shaver, Connor Shaver, Kason Shaver, Kodi Grace Shaver, Kynlie Shaver, and Quinn Shaver; brothers-in-law John Lumpkin and wife Tammy, Dell Ray Lumpkin and wife Bettie, Larry Lumpkin and wife Barbara, and sister-in-law Mary Anne Griffin; nieces Sherry Gurka, Tammy Winger, and nephew Larry Giles. Linnie is survived by many other loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Linnie was preceded in death by her mother, father, sister Delilah Giles.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 3:00pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Bert Bagley officiating. Burial will follow in Conroe Memorial park.
