Leslie R. Williams Sr. 1923 - 2016 Leslie R. "Stitch" Williams Sr. of 29 Marian Ave., Pittsfield, MA died Friday October 14, 2016 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 93. He was born on July 4, 1923 in Pittsfield, MA. to Cyreanous and Mary E. Williams at the family home on 504 South Mt. Rd. He attended local schools. In August, 1948 he married Mary (Roedel) and together they had 5 children. Stitch worked as a young man as an Eagle paperboy moving on to the South End Market and then Giftos Bros. Wholesale, from which he retired. He then became a daily visitor at his sons business Williams and Kingsley Auto Repair, where he puttered and offered sage advice to all. Stitch above all else was a loving family man who also enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing, his bicycle and walking in the woods. He is survived by his children, daughters Kathleen Arzt and sonin-law William of Pittsfield, Barbara J. Williams who was also his caretaker of Pittsfield, sons Leslie R. Williams Jr. and daughter-in-law Irene of Dalton and David M. Williams of Springfield, MA, a brother, Francis Williams of North Carolina and a sister, Phyllis Caesar and her husband Archie of Nashua, New Hampshire. He also leaves 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, a son Lawrence who died in infancy, and brothers Cyreanous and Melvin. He lived a great life and was an amazing and loving husband, father and friend. FUNERAL NOTICE- There will be no calling hours and a graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Berkshire Medical Center.
