Leslie "Les" B. Wieberdink, 89, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Cedar Grove Gardens where he boldly approached the throne of our God.Les was born on June 28, 1927, in Ozaukee County, son of Harry and Frieda (Jentink) Wieberdink. He was a 1944 graduate of Cedar Grove High School. Les served in the US Army from 1950-1952. On June 25, 1955, he married Arline H. Henning in Sheboygan. Les was employed as an inspector with Bolens Manufacturing in Port Washington for 38 years until his retirement in 1991. He was also employed with State Foundry in Cedar Grove for six years prior to his military service.Les was a lifelong member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder, usher, deacon, Sunday school teacher, and in the Men's Society. He was a member of the Cedar Grove Village Board for 17 years, active in the Cedar Grove Fire Department for 35 years, a member of the Pine Haven Men's Chorus and the Van Der Jagt - DeBruine American Legion Post 338 for 65 years. Les was a Red Cross blood donor, having donated 20 gallons. He enjoyed writing poems, card playing, golf, bowling, volleyball, tennis, fishing, hunting, travel, winters in Florida, and family vacations. Les was also an avid Green Bay Packer, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Brewer fan.Les is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arline; his children, Daniel (Julie) Wieberdink of Cedar Grove and Gail (Stephen) Brill of Oostburg; grandchildren, Adam (Megan) Brill, Amanda (Eric) Bollar, Evan and Derek Brill, and Nick and Brandon Wieberdink; six great-grandchildren, Mason, Kale, Addison, Nolan, Colton and Aria; and four sisters-in-law, Joan Meylink of Cedar Grove, Carol Drews of Sheboygan, Vicki (Patrick) Radovan of Sheboygan, and Edith Beernink of Cedar Grove. He is further survived by a daughter, Diane (Willard) Kotts of Cedar Grove; a grandson, William, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Les was preceded in death by his parents; with being the last surviving of eight children, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Muriel (Ivan) Beernink, Arlie (Audley) Roerdink and Doris (LeRoy) Traas; four brothers, an infant, Ernst (Laverne), Gordon (Jean), Robert (June) Wieberdink and three brothers-in-law, Fritz Drews, Wes Meylink and Mike Weber .Funeral services to celebrate Les' life will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with Rev. Donald Ritsman officiating. Burial and Military Honors will take place at Presbyterian Cemetery in the Town of Holland.Family and friends may gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday from 4-7 pm, and on Tuesday, at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am.A memorial fund has been established in Les' name for Stars and Stripes Honor Flight and the Cam Quilt Project.Les' family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Cedar Grove Gardens family for their outpouring of love and to Serenity Hospice for all of their care and compassion.For online condolences and additional information please visit www.wenigfuneralhome.com
