Leonard L. Robinson, age 83, of Whittemore, passed away on Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 at Tendercare in Tawas City. He was born on Jan. 31, 1933 in Whittemore to Edward and Bertha (Mason) Robinson. He graduated from Whittemore High School in 1951. He joined the U.S. Army in 1954 and was discharged in 1956 and then served in the Reserves until 1962. In 1956 he married his wife of 60 years, Ruth Moore, in Coldwater. He farmed all his life on the family farm. He was the Reno Township Clerk for 43 years. Leonard was a member of Whittemore United Methodist Church where over the years he served on many church boards. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed the cattle on the farm, farming and travelling especially Florida where he and Ruth spent many winters.Leonard is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Whittemore; children, David (Patricia) Robinson of Twin Lakes, Connie Robinson of East Tawas, Darrell Robinson of Dorr and Cheryl (Scott) Hottois of Whittemore; grandchildren, Daniel, Austin, Todd and Robert; great granddaughter, Emilee; sisters, Doris Lanham of Battle Creek and Dorothy Gamber of Midland; and his brother, Donald (Joann) Robinson of Orland, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Faye Eveland and Beatrice Riley; and granddaughter, Elizabeth.Visitation will take place at Buresh Funeral Home in Hale on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will take place at Whittemore United Methodist Church on Friday, Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Nathan Jeffords officiating. Interment will be in Reno Township Cemetery in Whittemore. Memorial contributions in Leonard's name may be made to Whittemore United Methodist Church.
