Leonard "Dave" F. Davidson1925-2016Leonard "Dave" F. Davidson, age 91, passed away on Monday, the 3rd of October 2016 in Houston. He was born on the 14th of March 1925, in Vinton, Louisiana. Working on a cattle ranch and in the oil fields, he grew to love "the cowboy way."Dave attended Lamar State College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during
WWII, fighting in some of the largest battles including D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge.Dave retired from Fluor Daniel and Foster Wheeler, but for the last several years, he was a fixture behind the counter at Carter's Country, working at the store on interstate 10. He was a long time member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Houston. Dave's passion was spending time outdoors, hunting with his sons, riding his favorite horse, fishing, listening to his wife sing, telling stories, and hearing about his grandson, Hunter, whom he later nicknamed "the judge."Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Davidson; and son, Scott Davidson. He is survived by his son, Paul Davidson and wife Renee of Houston; grandsons, Hunter Davidson of Beaumont, and Drake Davidson of Oregon; daughter-in-law, Shelly Davidson; and his nephew, Rick Dennis and wife Regina of Houston. The "Greatest Generation" has lost another one.The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Houston Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
