Leo J. Kleefisch,94 of Ventura,passed away at his home on Tuesday evening May 26, 2915.
Leo was born September 6, 1920, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and has been a Ventura County resident for the past 57 years coming from Wisconsin.
Leo was an Airforce veteran serving during World War II. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 28 years as a Route Manager.
Leo and his late wife Regina enjoyed traveling, dancing, attending musical and plays. Leo enjoyed working in his garden, growing and picking flowers, oranges, and walnuts.
Leo was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Ventura Council 2498. Leo would spend many hours at the Hall doing volunteer work and held office positions moving up the ranks all the way up to Grand Knight. He also was an active member of the American Legion Ventura Post 339.
Leo is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Bob Kleefisch and Karen Santo of Ventura; Daughter-in-law Diane Kleefisch of Texas; brothers Ray Kleefisch and his wife Dolores of Louisiana and Joe Kleefisch of Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren Ryan, Aaron, Lauren, Christopher, and Kimberly; and 7 great grandchildren. Leo was preceded in death by his beloved wife Regina and a son Carl Kleefisch.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours Thursday June 4, 2015 from 3 to 8pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME 757 E. Main Street Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Friday June 5, 2015 in Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 3175 Telegraph Road Ventura. Interment will follow in Santa Clara Cemetery, Oxnard.
