Lenox Joseph "L.J." Bourgeois Jr. passed away on October 26, 2016 at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Lillian Moser Bourgeois. Loving father of Elaine Bourgeois Melancon (the late Roland), Jeanette Bourgeois Authement (Robert), Judy Bourgeois Reifsteck (Gary) and Clint Paul Bourgeois. Grandfather of Michael Melancon (Claudia), Holly M. Parfait (Charles), Robert Authement Jr. (Dawn), Chad Authement (Angela), Ashley Reifsteck, Gary Reifsteck Jr. (Heather), Owen Reifsteck (Michelle), Scott Braniff, and the late Troy Braniff (Mindy). Brother of Arthur Bourgeois, the late Carroll Bourgeois and Bowman Bourgeois. Son of the late Laura Hebert Bourgeois and Lenox J. Bourgeois Sr. Companion of the late Alice Carter. Also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson along with many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. L.J. was born on August 18, 1926 in Gramercy, LA and resided in Marrero, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II from August, 1944 until June, 1946 in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He later worked as an insurance agent. He was a member of American Legion Post 222, Amvets Post 38 and 40/8 Post 201. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 9 AM to 1:30 PM.
