A Celebration of Life for former Hartman, Colorado resident, Lenny Lee Denning was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct 8, 2016 at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Dumas, Texas with Father Gabriel Garcia officiating. Lenny's daughter, Katie Johnson gave the Mass reading and daughter, Karli Gribble delivered the eulogy.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at the cemetery in Hartman, Colorado. Peacock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon at the Hartman Annex Building following the services.Lenny was born on November 10, 1954 to F. J. and Katherine (Gerlock) Denning in Lamar Colorado and passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 in Dumas, Texas at the age of 61. Lenny grew up in Hartman, Colorado on his parent's farm, attending the majority of his school years in Hartman and Holly, Colorado, graduating from Lamar High School in 1973. In 1983 he was united in marriage to Joni Even in Barbados. He had been a resident of Dumas, Texas since 1983. Lenny was employed by Halliburton for 10 years and then Valero for 25 years as a pipefitter. His hard work and determination characterized the man he was. He never missed a day of work.Lenny was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and before NFL Ticket, was known to drive all the way to Colorado just to watch a game on television. If the Broncos lost, his disposition would change dramatically. He was also extremely proud of his family and took every opportunity to brag about his wife, daughters and grandkids. One of Lenny's main attributes was his humor. He enjoyed sharing stories about all the shenanigans he and his friends pulled while they were growing up. There was never a dull day when Lenny was around.He is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Denning and brother-in-law, Kenneth Brown. Lenny is survived by his wife, Joni of the home; daughters, Katie (Davey) Johnson of Gruver, TX; Karli (Joe) Gribble of Yukon OK; granddaughters, Lennon and Greer Johnson and grandson Colvin Gribble. He is also survived by his father, F.J. Denning of Lamar, CO; sisters, Pauline (Dallas) Glover of Wellington KS; Joann (Ron) Trumble of Lamar, CO; Mary Alice Henry of Lamar CO; Darlene Brown of Coolidge, KS; Jane (Brett Jones) Brewer of Colleyville, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.Lenny is and will be dearly missed by his family and longtime friends.
