MINK CREEK, Idaho - Lenna Barrington Christensen Samsel, 88, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born on Jan. 28, 1922, in Riverdale, Idaho, to Lewis Aaron and Elva Lorain Taylor Barrington. She married Carl H. Christensen on Oct. 2, 1940, in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death Aug. 2, 1998. She later married Clifford Samsel on April 20, 2003, in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in April 2010. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings including Relief Society president, and Primary president and she and Carl served a mission in Birmingham, Ala., from 1984-85. Lenna was a temple worker in the Logan LDS Temple and she also performed extraction work. She enjoyed family history and crocheting and had a great love for family and the time she spent with them.She is survived by her children, Lyle Christensen, of Mink Creek, Idaho; Raeone (Brad) Steuart, of Bountiful, Utah; Vance (Connie) Christensen, of Pukalani, Hawaii; Vachele (Jay) Higbee, of Provo, Utah; Forrest (Patti) Christensen, of Mink Creek, Idaho; LaMoyne (Gary) Jeppson, of Kingman, Ariz.; and Danita (Eldon) Wilcox, of Mink Creek, Idaho; 43 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren; and brothers LuWayne (Bonnie) Barrington and Ross (Rea) Barrington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, Carl Christensen and Clifford Samsel, granddaughter Christy Steuart, and daughter-in-law Ruth Ann Christensen.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at noon in the Mink Creek LDS chapel. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new location 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, Idaho and Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church in Mink Creek, Idaho.
