Lawrence Patrick Gailes was born March 17, 1954 in Los Angeles, California to parents of Lillie Mae Stewart and Ivy Gailes Sr., who preceded him in passing. He was the third of six children.
Lawrence attended schools in the city of Compton, California, including Tibby Elementary, Vanguard Jr. High School and he graduated in 1973 from Compton, California High School.
Lawrence enjoyed spending time with family and friends and fixing up low rider cars and motorcycle bikes. Which is why it was no surprise that one of his career choices was an auto mechanic. Although he was a jack of all trades, building and fixing cars was Lawrence’s favorite thing to do.
You would never catch him in no beat up car. Lawrence loved for his cars to look nice inside and put. He liked his cars to be perfect and running smooth.
Lawrence was a loving, devoted and a caring father, grandfather and brother. He loved his children and siblings dearly and he always had kind words of encouragement and or life lessons for anyone. Lawrence, lovingly know as: Lo Lo will always be remembered by family and friends. He was a man of wisdom and dignity and well respected by all. He truly left a legacy!
Lawrence leaves to cherish his daughters Felecia and Jowanda who made his dreams come true by bringing him back to California in time of his passing? He is survived by his sister: Bertha and Jacqueline, three brothers, Cecil, Kenneth and Ivy who preceded him death. Lawrence also leaves a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin’s, relatives and friends. Lawrence a.k.a Lo Lo will be truly missed by all who knew him.
