Lawrence Edward Michel RAYMOND – Lawrence E. Michel, 74, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints. He was born on September 9, 1939, the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (nee: Mutchie) Michel. On March 28, 1959 Lawrence was united in marriage to Joyce Jorgensen. Lawrence was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a charter member of Salmon Unlimited Club since 1973. He had been employed with Ganton/Intermet, retiring in 2005. He also worked for Michel’s Garage for many years. Surviving is his wife of almost 55 years, Joyce, children, Thomas (Tracy) Michel, Robin (John) Michel, Lawrence “Boz” Michel and Kevin “Bud” (Jane) Michel; grandchildren, Jocelyn, Kyle, Katie and Kelli, sister, Laverne (LeRoy) Behrens, brother, David (RoseMarie) Michel, sisters-in-law, June and Ramona Michel. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Lawrence was preceded in death by his brothers, Leo, Jerome, Joseph and William; sisters, Rose Buchmann, Doris Behrens, Catherine Kastenson and Mary Ann Tuttle. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a time for family and friends to meet at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Monday before services from 10 a.m. until time of service.
