Lawrence M. "Larry" BurtCALEDONIA: Lawrence M. "Larry" Burt, age 75, of Caledonia, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Arbors of Delaware.He was born on September 21, 1942, in Ashtabula, OH, to the late Paul and Barbara E. (Bruey) Burt.Larry worked for a short time at TODCO in Marion before finding his career job at Foodtown Grocery in Marion. In 2001, Larry retired after 32 years of dedicated service in the Dairy Department at Foodtown.With a great sense of humor, Larry was very down to earth and gentle and one of the most honest people you could ever hope to know. He could never be called materialistic but his possessions were well cared for and kept immaculate. Larry enjoyed working in his yard and was very patriotic. He loved all animals and was never was without a dog in his life. Larry and his last dog, a rescued border collie named Suszee, were inseparable. Most of all, Larry loved his family. He loved time spent with his siblings and their extended families.He is survived by his son, Lawrence "Chip" (Missy) Parker of Marion; a grandchild, Christopher; siblings: Mary (Mike) Dardinger of Marion, Ted (Rosemary) Burt of Marion, Connie McFadden of Columbus, Peg (Jerry) Hissong of Caledonia, Melodee Rawlins of Morral, brother-in-law, George Collins of Caledonia and numerous nieces and nephews.Larry was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Collins.Services for Larry will be held privately with his family.
