Flatoff, Laverna J.Laverna J. Flatoff, 76, Stevens Point, died on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Strawberry Lane Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wisconsin Rapids. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church, Plover, where the visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time. Rev. Edward Shuttleworth will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Mill Creek. Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City is assisting the family. Laverna was born on September 3, 1940 in Marshfield, to Edmund and Regina (Rader) Scipior. She was a 1958 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School, Stevens Point. She had been employed at McCains Foods, Inc. in Plover for over 25 years until her retirement in 2012. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Larry Flatoff of Stevens Point, Linda (Larry) Lemke of Plover, Karen Young of Wisconsin Rapids and Sharon (Dan) Mertes of Amherst. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Candice, James, Forrest, Crystal, Brandon, Lindsey and Ian and 6 great grandchildren, Zoey, Hailey, Lily, Kingston, Josslyn and Jayden. She is further survived by a sister, MaryAnn (Jerry) Dorshorst of Wisconsin Rapids and a brother, Jim (Sharon) Scipior of Junction City. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Sylvester and her twin brother, LaVern.
