Laura Jobe ClemmonsJackson, TNLaura Jobe Clemmons, age 86 of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Maplewood Healthcare surrounded by her family.She was born on June 12, 1930 in Jackson, TN to the late Thornley S. Jobe and Ella B. Carruthers. Laura was a graduate of the University of Georgia and earned her Master's Degree at the University of Memphis. She was a retired Special Education Teacher for the Jackson-Madison County School System. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jackson and attended First Baptist Church of Jackson. In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lauren Clemmons; a brother, Thornley C. Jobe, and a sister, Elizabeth Jobe Davis.She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Billy Clemmons of Jackson; her children, Angelyn Herndon (Ernest) and Bill Clemmons, Jr. (Lynette); grandsons, Cole Clemmons and Dr. Andy Coy (Paulette); and great grandchildren, Ella and Andrew Coy.A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Ridgecrest Cemetery with Dr. Justin Wainscott and Dr. Paul Clayton officiating.
